I split my year between Virpazar and further afield. The lake has been part of my life since I was small, and every year I meet visitors who wish they’d had better information before they came. This site is that information — the honest version, written from the village.

Why bilingual?

German is the default; English lives under /en/. Most travellers who ask me questions speak one or the other.

When I recommend a specific tour or service on the site, I mean it. A few links are affiliate — they support the writing and cost you nothing extra. I do not write about anything I haven’t experienced.
